The Gambia Armed Forces have announced the death of navy captain Dembo Jarju.

Captain Jarju passed away in the early hours of this morning (3 January) at the Edward Francis Small Teaching Hospital in Banjul.

“The Chief of Defence Staff Gambia Armed Forces, the Deputy Chief of Defence Staff, the Commander Gambia National Army, the Executive Officer, Gambia Navy, General Officers, Men and Women of the Gambia Armed Forces informs the general public that the late Navy Captain Dembo Jarju of the Gambia Navy will be laid to rest at his family residence in Sifo today Wednesday 3 January 2024 at 1400hrs.

“This news is extended to His Excellency the President Adama Barrow and Cabinet Ministers, family members, relatives and friends in the Gambia and abroad,” the Gambia Armed Forces said.
