He was widely regarded within the force as a figure of integrity and professionalism. Colleagues described him as more than just a law enforcer, a mentor, a brother, and a steadfast advocate of ethical policing.

Inspector Kebba Njie, of the Police Intervention Unit, also died following years of committed service. Known for his discipline and resilience, he earned the respect of peers and community members alike throughout his career.

In a statement, the Gambia Police Force expressed deep sorrow at their passing and extended condolences to the families, friends, and colleagues of the late officers.

“Both men served with honour and distinction,” the statement read.

“Their contributions to the Force and to the nation will not be forgotten.”
