The Scorpions of Gambia today pounded the Seychelles Pirates with a comfortable 5-1 victory in their World Cup qualifying match.

Scorpions forward Muhammed Badamosi opened the scores with a header 10th minutes into the match before Seychelles Henriette levelled the score four minutes later on.

The two teams who both lost their two previous matches in the qualifiers went into the break stalemate – after each side couldn’t find the back of their opponents net to double the lead.

Scorpions came from the break with double energy which saw Gambian talisman Musa Barrow doubled the score from the penalty spot in the 52nd minutes before scorpions wonderkid Yankuba Minteh fired in the third goal in the 55th minutes.

Scorpions skilful striker Muhammed Badamosi quenched his thirst for goal by doubling his score before debutant Adama Sidibeh extended the scores to five.

The win will delight newly appointed coach Jonathan McKinstry who promised a new era for Gambian football.
