Nineteen people including six health workers test positive for coronavirus, the highest registered cases in a single day, the Ministry of Health has said
The six healthcare workers are from the Edward Francis Small Teaching Hospital (EFSTH) and the Medical Research Council (MRC).
It is in the highest registered cases so far, bringing the country’s total cases to 112.
The ministry said out of the laboratory tests results that 18 cases are repeated and 185 are new cases, but added “the source and chain of infection of about 58% of the new cases could not be established which is evidence of the existence of community transmission.”
The government has now made wearing a face mask compulsory in a bid to curb the spread of the virus.
As from Friday this week people would be fine if they don’t wear face mask in public.
