The Gambia succumb to a 1-0 defeat against Côte d’Ivoire in Abdijan in the World Cup qualifiers.

Sebastien Haller’s 15-minute goal was all the Elephant needed to record a narrow victory over The Gambia.

The Scorpions created numerous goalscoring opportunities in the second half but they all bore fruitless with Alieu Fadera guilty of missing a couple.

The win catapulted Côte d’Ivoire to top of the Group F World Cup qualifiers while the Gambia sits just a place above the bottom Seychelles in the group with 4 points in 6 matches.
