The UN Special Coordinator for Development in the Sahel has said The Gambia will host this year’s International Forum on Governance. 

Abdoulaye Mar Dieye made the statement at a meeting with President Adama Barrow at the State House. 

Mr Dieye used the occasion to congratulate President Barrow on his reelection, adding that he is impressed with the strides The Gambia made in its governance agenda, from which the countries in the Sahel and beyond can learn.  

The meeting was attended by the UNDP Regional Coordinator for West and Central Africa, Njoya Tikum, Nwanne Vwede-Obahor of the Office of the Special Coordinator for Development in the Sahel and the country team, the UN Resident Coordinator Seraphine Wakana and UNDP Resident Representative, Ms Aissata De.
