The Government of the Gambia 

has declared Thursday 13 May as public holiday throughout the Gambia in observance of the Muslim feast of Eid al-Fitr.

A press release from the Office of the President states: 

“His Excellency President Adama Barrow, acting under section 76 of the 1997 Constitution of the Republic of The Gambia, is pleased to declare Wednesday 12th and Thursday 13th May 2021 as Public Holidays throughout the country in observance of the Feast of Eid al-Fitr to mark the end of the Holy Month of Ramadan.

“President Barrow wishes all Gambians at home and abroad a happy and joyous Eid Celebration.”
