Lieutenant Colonel Ebrima F. M’Bai, a Gambian-born U.S. Army officer, has earned one of the highest academic honours in the U.S. military by graduating from the prestigious Dwight D. Eisenhower School for National Security and Resource Strategy in Washington, D.C.
Part of the National Defense University, the Eisenhower School is one of the most selective institutions for senior military officers and government officials. It trains future leaders in national security, global strategy, and resource management. Admission is strictly by nomination, based on outstanding leadership, career performance, and strategic potential.

Lt. Col. M’Bai’s journey to this elite institution is nothing short of inspiring. He began his career as an enlisted soldier in the U.S. Army, working his way up to become a commissioned officer and eventually a Lieutenant Colonel—an uncommon and commendable rise through the ranks.
Over the course of the rigorous year-long program, Lt. Col. M’Bai studied critical issues including global security challenges, U.S. defense policy, industrial strategy, and leadership in complex geopolitical environments. Graduates of the Eisenhower School often go on to serve in some of the highest positions in the U.S. military and government.

At the graduation ceremony, the President of the National Defence University commended the class for their dedication and resolve:
“Today you stand at the threshold of a remarkable journey—equipped with knowledge, leadership, and resilience to face the challenges ahead. Lead boldly, serve faithfully, and embrace the adventure ahead.”
Lt. Col. M’Bai’s achievement stands as a testament to his discipline, determination, and the global contributions of Gambians in service around the world.
