
The Gambia’s football family is mourning the passing of Alh. Kebba Massaneh Ceesay, a former national team goalkeeper and long-serving football administrator.
Kebba Massaneh Ceesay represented Real De Banjul and Gambia Ports Authority FC during his playing career before serving as Technical Director of the former Gambia Football Association (GFA). He also recently served on the GFF Ad-hoc Dispute Resolution Tribunal.
GFF President Lamin Kaba Bajo described him as a “Alh. Kebba Massaneh Ceesay was a monumental pillar of Gambian football. From defending our national colours on the pitch to guiding our technical direction and ensuring fair play through sports justice,” praising his lifelong contribution to the sport.
Funeral prayers and burial are scheduled for Tuesday, with further details to be announced. May Almighty Allah forgive his shortcomings, accept his good deeds and grant him Jannatul Firdaus.
