The Gambia High Commission in London has recognised Lamin Kongira, a Gambian national in the UK, for his bravery during a major fire in Glasgow city centre.
Mr Kongira was among the first people to respond when a blaze engulfed a vape shop near Glasgow Central Station, with flames eventually consuming a historic building in the area.
Despite the intensity of the fire and the later collapse of the structure, he stepped forward to help, demonstrating courage and a strong sense of responsibility to protect others.

The High Commission praised his actions as heroic, saying they reflect the values of courage, community spirit and compassion associated with Gambians.
“Your courage makes us proud,” the mission said in a message commending Mr Kongira for his bravery.
