Bakary Manjang, a Gambian journalist and Tiktoker, has been charged with witness interference over a trip to Casamance.

Manjang was detained on Wednesday night after being called for questioning.

He said he was in Casamance, in southern Senegal, where a suspect in the killing of two police officers was arrested to interview people who knew about the arrest of the suspect.

Some journalists and activists are demanding the police to drop the charge against Manjang.
