A Gambian man, Ansu Jarju, has been arrested in Bissau in connection with last month’s armed robbery at Access Bank in Brusubi.
According to police, a group of masked robbers stormed the bank, forcing staff and a security guard to take cover before making away with an unspecified amount of money.
Authorities in Guinea-Bissau confirmed Jarju’s arrest and his subsequent transfer to Gambian authorities.
“The suspect has been handed over to The Gambia Police Force through security bilateral cooperation to ensure his swift extradition and prosecution,” police said in a statement.
