A 23-year-old Gambian man was arrested yesterday in Vicaria-Mercato, Italy for drug possession and trafficking. 

Officers from the Vicaria-Mercato police station noticed a man on Via Firenze who, acting suspiciously, approached an individual sitting on a step and shortly thereafter handed him something in exchange for money, reports Il Mattino. 

The man was found in possession of 5 packages of marijuana weighing 0.6 grams and 525 euros in small denomination banknotes. 

He was arrested for illegal possession and trafficking of narcotics and resisting a public official.
