The Gambian Police have arrested a 61-year-old man with an illegal firearm and suspected illegal drugs.

The suspect was arrested in Sifoe during a joint patrol involving officers from Siffoe Police Station, the Drug Law Enforcement Agency, SIS, and other agencies.

“The operation uncovered 10 wraps of cannabis, leading officers to the suspect’s residence, where additional cannabis, an unlicensed pistol (PT 111 G2, 9mm), two magazines, and 82 rounds of live ammunition were found.

“Investigations are ongoing, and the Gambia Police Force encourages the public to report suspicious activities to enhance public safety,” police said.
