The Gambian Police have arrested a man,   alleged to be staff of Central Bank of The Gambia with $57,800 and D370,000 in cash  amid ongoing investigation into last week’s Access Bank robbery.

The suspect was arrested at the Jenoi checkpoint and is currently detained to assist the police with their investigation.

“Our Officers intercepted an individual, alleged to be an employee of the Central Bank at the Jenoi checkpoint. The suspect was found in possession of $57,800 and D370,000 in cash. An investigation is currently underway to establish the source and intended use of these funds,” police said.

Police urged the public to help with information related to this case  by calling 9968885 or by visiting any police station.
