Gambian sprint star Mariam Gina Bass Bittaye and her husband, Mustapha Bittaye, have stepped into the public eye with a striking display of cultural pride.

Months after welcoming their first child in the United States, the couple appeared draped in traditional Gambian attire, reflecting both heritage and celebration.

The couple looked every bit the power pair in traditional Gambian outfits that turned heads online.

Gina glowed in her colourful ensemble, while Mustapha stole the show in a bold, embroidered boubou,“dripping in culture,” as fans quickly described it on social media.

It’s the first time the pair have been spotted in full cultural regalia since becoming parents, and supporters couldn’t get enough.

One fan wrote, “This is the real Gambia talent, tradition and love all in one picture.”

For Gina, who sprinted into global headlines with her record-breaking runs, the cultural moment was about more than style, it was about showing the world where she comes from, even as she raises her child abroad.

And for Mustapha, the proud new dad and coach, his flowing outfit marked not just fashion flair, but a declaration of heritage.
