A Gambian woman was shot dead in the early hours of Wednesday morning in Vällingby, a suburb in Stockholm, Sweden.

Swedish Police were called out at around 1.30am on Wednesday after witnesses reported hearing what sounded like gunshots. A car was also reported as leaving the area in connection with the shooting.

The victim, Ndella Jack, aged 18, was found injured on the scene, inside an apartment, and was taken to hospital by ambulance. But at 7.19am Swedish police said she had died from her injuries.

No arrests have been made so far as police launch a manhunt.

According to reports the gunmen real target was her husband, Lamin Dibba, who was known to the Swedish police.

The shooting comes just days after a woman in her 30s was shot and killed in Malmö.

Ndella Jack’s death has rocked the close knit Gambian community in Stockholm.
