Gambians are among a migrant boat that sank off Tunisia’s Kerkennah Islands.

At least 51 migrants on the boat are from Gambia, Senegal, Mali and Guinea Conakry. Four are reported death. But their nationalities have not yet been known.

Rescue operations continue by the Tunisian Coast Guards on the island sea.

Italy-based Gambian migrant rights campaigner, Ebrima Drammeh told Gambiana that “at least four migrants have died and 51 are missing after a migrant boat sank off Tunisia’s Kerkennah Islands, and all the migrants on board are reported to be from sub-Saharan Africa and [from] Senegal, Gambia, Mali and Guinea,” he said.
