Gambians seeking to acquire a passport will have to pay a new fee of D5,100 starting 1 May 2025, the Gambia Immigration Department has announced.

The price hike follows the government’s approval to increase passport fees from D3,060 to D5,100.

“In accordance with Cabinet approval and a subsequent communiqué from the Ministry, the revised fees comprise D100 for the passport form and D5,000 for the passport booklet, payable at EcoBank Gambia Ltd,” the Immigration Department said in a statement.

Authorities say the adjustment is in line with contractual obligations under Addendum No. 1 of the Concession Agreement between the Government of the Gambia and Africard Gambia Ltd., dated 11 March 2013, Article 5.7.1(d).
