A gang operating around Abuko Primary School has been accused of placing tyres on the road to obstruct motorists before allegedly robbing them when they stop.
Residents and motorists in the area said the suspected gang members have been using the tactic to create an obstruction on the road, forcing drivers to slow down or stop.
“This is what they do. They come and place these tyres here and when you stop with your car, they rob you,” a man said.
The allegations have raised concerns among residents and motorists who use the road, particularly over the safety of people travelling through the area.
In response to the reported incidents, the Police Intervention Unit has been deployed to the area to help maintain security and prevent further criminal activity.
The deployment comes as concerns grow over alleged robberies targeting motorists around the Abuko Primary School area.
Police are expected to monitor the area and take action against anyone found to be involved in criminal activities.
Residents are meanwhile being urged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to the police.
