Gambia Action Party (GAP) has endorsed presidential candidate Mama Kandeh for the December 4 election.

The party on Sunday signed a coalition agreement with the Gambia Democratic Congress (GDC) at the Baobab Hotel.

Interim leader Jala Camara signed the coalition MOU with GDC on behalf of the party.

In a statement, GAP said: “Our collective aims and objectives toward effective service delivery to The Gambian people in the most dignified manner coupled with sovereignty and respect to the shared values shall be ushered by GDC, NAM and GAP coalition.

“As scheduled, Gambia Action Party will join and participate in the nationwide campaign tour starting tomorrow and calls on GAP surrogates around the nation to come together in unison and show support. The campaign itinerary will be shared in all GAP platforms.”

The deal comes a week after the party suspended its leader Musa Batchilly for endorsing President Adama Barrow against the wishes of the party executive.
