Omar Ceesay, spokesman for Gambia Democratic Party, has asked the opposition to form a coalition ahead of local government and mayoral elections.
The Gambia will go to the polls in 2023 to elect new council chairpersons and mayors.
Meanwhile, Omar Ceesay, former lawmaker for Niamina East said: “we should always be talking about how the nation should be run for development.
“Because I believe the opposition parties should come together as one and see how we can form a coalition ahead of the local government elections for the council and chairman and mayor.”
“Our objectives should be to ensure the opposition gains more power in all areas in the area of election. Even if we don’t form a coalition, we can form a tactical alliance to ensure we give chances to parties that have more followers in other areas,” he added.
