The national youth president of opposition Gambia Democratic Congress has responded to criticism over his recent meeting with President Adama Barrow at State House.
Momodou Ebrima Cham commonly known as MC Cham Jr is facing criticism from members of his own party over the meeting.
MC Cham Jr said he had not done anything wrong, adding that he was honouring the call of President Barrow to discuss issues of national interest.
According to him, he has not crossed-carpeted to the ruling National People’s Party, saying his meeting was done with the support of the party leadership.
“I informed my party leader, Mama Kandeh, before meeting with President Adama Barrow and he (Kandeh) approved my meeting with Barrow,” Mr Cham said.
“I did not regret meeting President Adama Barrow and even if he calls me again to meet him, I will meet him because he is the president of the country and if he requests me to discuss with him about the affairs of the country, I will honour his call.
“And it is a big privilege for a young politician like me to be called by President Adama Barrow to discuss about the affairs of the country. This is a big privilege in my political career,” he said.
“I don’t regret my visit to President Adama Barrow and if I have such a chance to meet him again, I will go and meet him.
“Anyone who demands me to meet him, I will go and meet him. If Lawyer Ousainou Darboe calls me to meet him, I will go and meet him. If Halifa Sallah calls me to meet him, I will go and meet him,” he added.
