The Ghanaian contingent of the ECOWAS Mission in The Gambia (ECOMIG) has donated educational and health supplies to Farafenni Senior Secondary School in the North Bank Region as part of a community outreach initiative.

The donation, carried by GHANCOY 9, led by Lieutenant Colonel Ronne Yaw Agbemafle, included school materials and sanitary pads, with a special focus on supporting girls’ education.

As part of the event, Captain Victoria Yayira Galley conducted an information session on menstrual hygiene, aimed at raising awareness and addressing stigma surrounding menstruation among students.

The school principal welcomed the gesture, describing it as both timely and impactful.

The initiative forms part of ECOMIG’s broader efforts to promote peace, stability, and social cohesion in The Gambia through civil-military cooperation and community engagement.
