The GFF Men’s FF Cup Round of 32 delivered major upsets and high drama across matches as second division sides made strong statements against top flight opponents.

At Brikama, AJ Soccers pulled off one of the biggest shocks, eliminating Brikama United after a dramatic encounter. The visitors raced into a 2-0 lead before the break through Muhammed Conteh and Modou Jarju.

Brikama United responded with determination in the second half, as Dembo Danjo reduced the deficit in the 50th minute before Johnathan Correa powered home Ebrima Sawaneh’s corner in the 73rd minute to level matters. Despite the comeback, AJ Soccers held their nerve to win 4-3 on penalties.

Elsewhere, fellow second tier side Colley Stars also stunned top flight opposition with a hard-fought 1-0 win over Real De Banjul at Yundum, courtesy of Modou Manneh’s first-half strike.

Kanifing East joined the list of giant killers, edging Gambian Dutch Lions 1-0 in Bakau through Ousainou Bah’s early goal.

In other results, Team Rhino advanced past Bombada after a goalless draw, winning 3-2 on penalties at SK East.

Hart FC and Menmar Banjul United played out a thrilling 2-2 draw in Soma, with Hart progressing 5-4 on penalties.

The Round of 32 once again highlighted the magic of the FF Cup, with lower division sides proving they can compete and overcome top-tier teams on the big stage.
