A group of concerned Gambian football fans has called on FIFA to investigate the leadership of Gambia Football Federation over “corruption and financial embezzlement”.

The ‘GFF Must Go’ group, who clarified that they are apolitical, said they want to restore sanity in how the country’s FA runs the affairs of football. They said that Gambians have “lost confidence” in the leadership of Lamin Kaba Bajo.

Speaking at a news conference at Serrekunda East Park, Babucarr Krubally, the public relations officer of the group, said: “we are deeply troubled of the embezzlement of funds that are intended for development of football in The Gambia. It has come to our attention that GFF has received significant amount of funds from FIFA totalling to $11 million from 2014 to 2024.”

Commenting on the allegation of corruption against the leadership of Gambia Football Federation, Ali Sallah, chairman of the group added:”we believe such investigation is crucial to ensure transparency and accountability in the management of funds allocated to The Gambia Football Federation.”
