Two gunmen on Saturday robbed a Mauritanian shop, El Hella, in Banjul, escaping with over one million dalasis.

CCTV footage shows the attackers entering the shop, brandishing firearms, and holding staff at gunpoint.

Police say the suspects arrived in an ash-colored BMW with no number plate and parked opposite the shop. One was wearing a face mask, while the other was unmasked.

“The suspects stole D1,245,000 and 1,650,000 CFA before fleeing the scene in the same vehicle,” police said in a statement.

Police have launched an investigation and urged the public to help identify the suspects and their car.
