The Gambia’s U-17 side, the Scorplings, are in complete control at half-time in Dakar after turning the game around to take a commanding 3–1 lead over Sierra Leone at the Stade Abdoulaye Wade.

Sierra Leone struck first through Ousman Bangura, but their advantage lasted only moments. Alieu Saine restored parity from the penalty spot after Sharif Touray was brought down.

Saine then struck again from the spot five minutes later to complete the comeback and put The Gambia ahead.

The Scorplings continued to pile on the pressure, with Sheikh Ngum setting up Sharif Touray for a close-range finish in the 20th minute to make it 3–1.

The Gambia head into the second half with a two-goal cushion and firmly in control.
