The minister of Tourism and Culture has told Gambians to “massively” vote for President Adama Barrow in the forthcoming presidential election.

Hamat Bah, who was speaking at a President Barrow rally in Kiang Kabada, asked Gambians to give a deaf ear to Barrow’s opposition whom he described as “people who have not done anything for the country coming into politics.

“We know everything that is going on and we are aware of everything that is happening throughout the length and breadth of the country.

“So, if you want progress then massively vote for President Adama Barrow in the upcoming election in December.

“Since 2017, all what President Barrow promised you, he has fulfilled everything. You complained to him in 2017 about your ambulance and he promised to provide you with a brand-new ambulance and today he has brought you a brand-new ambulance, let us speak truth to one another and work for progress.”

He added: “We know something and some people are coming to build mosques and dig little boreholes and erect small resting tents for you and asking you to help them be a president, and they have been here for so long, but they have never done any help for you. We know everything.”

Speaking on the developments brought by President Barrow, Mr Bah said the schools built by Barrow have never been built by any of Gambia’s two presidents.

“The schools he [Barrow] built have never been built in the history of the Gambia, and the fertilisers he [Barrow] has brought in this country has never been brought by any of his predecessors.

“He [Barrow] brought you free rice supplies, free sugar supplies, free cooking oil supplies and supplied you with cash for free. You [Gambians] have never left out,” he said.
