Minister of Lands, Regional Government, Religious and Affairs Hamat Bah has urged supporters of President Adama Barrow to work towards his re-election, describing the downfall of a government as a serious matter.
Speaking during President Barrow’s nationwide Meet the People Tour, Bah called on supporters to do their best to ensure the President wins the December 5 presidential election.
“May God save us from the downfall of a government. That’s why anywhere you are, do your best to ensure President Barrow wins this election,” Bah said.
Bah said the downfall of a government is something that should concern people, urging supporters to recognise the importance of the upcoming election and play their part in securing Barrow’s victory.
His remarks come as President Barrow and members of his political camp continue engagements with communities across the country as part of the annual Meet the People Tour.
The tour has provided a platform for government officials and political allies of the President to highlight the administration’s record and mobilise support ahead of the December election.
Bah urged supporters not to limit their efforts to particular locations but to work wherever they are to promote Barrow’s re-election bid.
The Minister’s appeal comes amid preparations by political parties and candidates for the presidential contest, with supporters expected to intensify their mobilisation activities as the election approaches.
During the tour, Barrow and his delegation have been visiting communities and holding meetings with residents, traditional leaders, youth groups and other stakeholders.
The engagements have focused on government programmes, development priorities and political messages ahead of the election.
Bah’s remarks add to the calls from members of Barrow’s political camp for supporters to remain active and committed to the President’s re-election campaign.
The December 5 election will determine who leads the country for the next presidential term.
