More than 100 Gambian migrants including four women have reached Spain after risking their lives in the perilous Mediterranean Sea.

The Gambian migrants travelled all the way from Tanji to Spain on a fishing boat. 

“I can tell you that 120 Gambian migrants have  arrived in El Hierro in Spain late afternoon  from Tanji in Gambia including four women they are all fine and well,” Ebrima Drammeh – an Italy-based Gambian migrant rights defender told Gambiana.

This comes as dozen of Gambian migrant deportees from Germany landed in the country.

The Gambia is among countries that is hit with youths migration linked to high rate of unemployment.
