Hussein Thomasi has been appointed The Gambia’s new solicitor general following the sacking of Cherno Marenah.

Mr Thomasi has been an adviser at the Ministry of Justice since 2017 and was a close confidant of former Justice Minister Abubacarr Tambadou.

According to government sources Cherno Marenah has been redeployed to the foreign service and is now the Deputy Head of Mission in the Gambian Embassy in Turkey.
