Imam Bakawsu Fofana has held a lavish wedding ceremony which started in Jarra Soma and ended at his Kombo residence of Sancha Sulay Jobe.
Shiekh Bakawsu Fofana and his wife Mrs Kaddy Jarjusey in colourful attire held a traditional ceremony (manyo Bitoo) in Jarra Soma on June 30.
This was followed by a reception (manyo Bunnya) at their residence in Sanchaba Sulay Jobe.
The controversial imam is known for his political sermons and public statements about government officials including the president.
He was exiled from The Gambia during the Jammeh reign after he fell foul with the strongman over his his type of leadership.
Imam Fofana was praised for his appearance at the Truth, Reconciliation and Reparations Commission, where he branded himself as a great marabout.
During his appearance at the TRRC, he famously sipped from his kettle, a brazen act that went viral. Dozens of Gambians took to social media to reprise his kettle act.
