Independence Stadium continues to show promising signs of readiness ahead of its anticipated return to hosting international football.
Recent images indicate the stadium is in good condition as work progresses to meet the Confederation of African Football (CAF) requirements.
Medina United have already registered Independence Stadium as their home venue for the preliminary round of the CAF Champions League, scheduled for September.

Based on information available to Gambiana, there is growing optimism that the stadium will receive CAF approval in time to host the qualifiers.
If approved, it would mark the return of CAF interclub football to The Gambia after a lengthy absence, providing a significant boost for Gambian football and its supporters.
