Exiled former Gambian President Yahya Jammeh has warned Senegal against any attempt to annex The Gambia, vowing to “resist with full force” if such ambitions arise.
In a recorded statement, Jammeh said: “If Senegal ever thinks of annexing The Gambia, I will resist them with full force. Let them not even think about it.”
Known for his fiery rhetoric, Jammeh mocked Senegal’s military, claiming “even Boy Scouts are braver than their soldiers.” He also accused Senegal of seizing sophisticated Gambian weaponry.

“Senegal stole our brand-new weapons, but they can’t use them because they’re too advanced. If they’re honest, they should return them,” he said.

The Senegalese government has yet to respond to the accusations. Jammeh, who ruled The Gambia from 1994 to 2017, has lived in exile in Equatorial Guinea since his election defeat in 2016.
