A youngster loss his life yesterday after his vehicle plunged into a river in Bakau as he drove to welcome home the Gambia’s Under-20 team.

Edrisa Marrie, popularly known as Master, was among the jubilant Young Scorpion fans that went to welcome the team that won the WAFU Under-20 football tournament in Thies, Senegal. 

According to reports Edrissa’s friend was one of the U-20 players and he was on his way to give him a hero’s welcome. 

It is not clear whether there were any other person in the vehicle. 

Edrissa a native of Foni Kandong, was living in New Yundum before his untimely death.
