Some unhappy youths from Upper River Region (URR) have called for the resignation of Gambia Football Federation’s President Lamin Kaba Bajo.

The youths held a protest yesterday over the lack of support for grassroots football in the area.

According to a source, the protest was held as Kaba Bajo and team travelled to Basse to attend the third division league final.

“We need change, we are tired of corruption, Kaba must go,” one the protesters told Gambiana.

The incumbent GFF president will face one of his former staff Sadibu Kamaso in a hotly contested election in August.

The two have already had heated exchanges in the run up to the election.

Kamaso has promised to restore what he called “the lost hopes of Gambian football”, while Kaba promised to complete football projects started by his administration.
