Kanifing Mayor Talib Ahmed Bensouda is expected to appear before the Local Government Commission of Inquiry today (25 August) as scrutiny over his council deepens.

The mayor confirmed his attendance in a brief note, stating: “I will be appearing at the Commission of Inquiry today.”

His testimony comes after weeks of damaging revelations about alleged nepotism, financial irregularities, and mismanagement within the Kanifing Municipal Council.
