Kemo Ceesay has been elected President of the Gambia Football Federation (GFF), defeating Colonel Musa Jammeh and Sadibou Kamaso in a three-way contest at the federation’s elective congress held at Paradise Suites Hotel.

Ceesay secured 41 of the 77 votes cast, while Colonel Musa Jammeh received 24 votes and Sadibou Kamaso polled 12.

His victory ends Lamin Kaba Bajo’s 12-year tenure as GFF president and ushers in a new chapter for Gambian football.

Ceesay takes charge at a time when the federation faces several challenges, including football infrastructure, player welfare, women’s football, grassroots development and the performance of the national teams.
