The incumbent for Latrikunda Sabiji has lost his bid for re-election to United Democratic Party’s candidate Yaya Sanyang in Saturday’s parliamentary elections.

Saikou Marong, who was fired by United Democratic Party in 2019 for breach of the party’s policies, contested under the ticket of the ruling National People’s Party.

The now ex-lawmaker wrote on his Facebook:” I lost my bid for re-election for Latrikunda Sabiji Constituency to UDP Yaya Sanyang. Honourable Yaya Sanyang congratulations. People of Latrikunda Sabiji thank you for all the support you (have) given me.”

The Independent Electoral Commission is however yet to make any official announcement as we report this breaking news announced by the subject in the story.
