The National Assembly member for Foni Kansala has said the people of the Fonis will never forget President Adama Barrow’s 2017 tirade against them.
Musa Amul Nyassi said the incident is still fresh in the minds of his people.
“I can remember his first [presidential] tour when the Coalition was in unity. There was an address made by President Barrow in Foni that’s still fresh in the memories of [the] Foni people.
“He [Mr Barrow] said the Foni people should know that they cannot make a leader win election in this country.
“Thank God as far Foni people cannot make a leader win an election and they are powerless people fine that’s your analysis and we the Foni people know what we know and the APRC in Foni have sealed their loyalty.”
The lawmaker called on Gambians to put aside their differences and work for the common good.
“I am urging Gambians to unite in the name of peace and progress of the country. We will disagree but at the end we are all Gambians.
“Let’s learn from others’ mistakes in order to avoid making mistakes but if we want to learn from our mistakes it will take long before we learn,” Mr Nyassi said.
Gambians will head to the presidential polls on 4 December when the incumbent President Adama Barrow will face challenge from multiple political parties vying to unseat him.
