Lawyer Khadijatou Jallow of Danimayo Chambers has given an update on protesters detained following demonstrations against the Public Utilities Regulatory Authority’s (PURA) mandatory data price floor.

The update includes details of where the detainees are being held, their condition, and reports of how they have been treated in custody.

According to the lawyer, detainees at both Kairaba and Kotu stations were reported to be in generally good condition, though they complained about poor cell conditions.

Several detainees at Bakoteh alleged mistreatment.

Killa Ace said he was beaten by a group of officers, leaving him with chest bruises and a torn shirt.

Sissoho Danso reported being slapped on the back by an officer identified as Kebba Jallow, a 2025 police recruit.

Ebrima Jatta claimed he may have dislocated his shoulder after being brought to the ground by Superintendent Sarr and is still experiencing pain that may require medical attention.

Those held at Kanifing told lawyers that the manner of their arrest was unnecessarily harsh.
