Human rights activist and commentator Madi Jobarteh has criticised President Adama Barrow’s latest State of the Nation address, describing it as “meaningless”.

Jobarteh said the speech failed to address pressing issues such as the high cost of living and alleged widespread corruption.

“Once again, Barrow has delivered a meaningless State of the Nation Address,” he said.

He added: “No mention of transparency, accountability, corruption, Jammeh assets, high cost of living, illegal land allocations, abuse of power, rights violations or waste in government.”
