Media Academy for Journalism and Communications (MAJAC) in Fajara has issued a security warning to its students to avoid back ways while travelling to the school.
The school’s alert comes amid a rise in
criminal activities within Fajara and Bakau.
“All students are advised to avoid back ways and other lonely or remote places when going to school or from there as of now as a means of self-protection against suspected criminal activities going on within the surrounding of MAJAC.
“Both the Management and the SU Executive are concerned about the security threats around the vicinity of GPU and MAJAC, as a result, we urge all the students to be extra vigilant around those places and totally avoid using back ways. You are also advised to come to school in peers and return home the same way,” Ousman Saidykhan, the school’s students union’s minister of communication said.
“We do not intend to create alarm. We just need to put our safety before everything. While we thank you for your usual understanding, we pray that everyone is protected from all forms of evil,” he added.
