Barrow and Kandeh

Mama Kandeh, leader of the opposition Gambia Democratic Congress, has warned Barrow and his supporters of the impact of “fight back” comment

President Barrow has told his supporters at a rally this week: “you don’t have to be afraid because you form the government as President Barrow alone can’t do it all. Whoever insulted you and broke the law, you all should get up and stand firm and fight, and I will be behind you to provide support. There cannot be two presidents in a country. And from today until 2026, President Barrow is the President of The Gambia.”

However, reacting to Barrow’s comments, Mama Kandeh warned the president and his supporters that they do not have more rights than other Gambians.

“ (I know) NPP is the ruling party but every member of NPP from the last person to the President do not have more rights than other Gambians.

“The right you guys can have that other Gambians cannot have as well doesn’t exist. Anybody who tells you this is deceiving you,” Kandeh said.
