Covid-19 Testing in community

The Ministry of Health has announced that 300,000 people in The Gambia have been vaccinated against coronavirus.

Health officials say despite people coming forward to get the vaccines, a large section of the populace is still unvaccinated.

Programme manager at the Ministry of Health Buba Darboe told reporters that their target is 1.3 million people.

He said the Covid-19 vaccines are safe and are there to protect people and their families.

“The vaccines have lot of positive impacts because hospitalisation has drastically gone down which shows that the vaccine is working and it is effective,” Mr Darboe said.

According to him, the  ministry is working hard to get people the best vaccines available.
