Rapper Myk Jayda has thrown down the gauntlet to his fellow Gambian rappers, claiming that even if they all joined forces on a song, he could out-rap them in just three days.
Known for his sharp punchlines and commanding beats, Myk has been at odds with other rappers ever since his release from prison. The latest flare-up came after fellow rapper Attack dropped a beef track targeting Myk and two others.
Myk fired back on social media, dismissing the song as weak and off-beat, calling Attack below his level in rap, intelligence, and even physical strength. Attack had mocked Myk as a liar who had been imprisoned until the public had to chip in to secure his release.
Now, Myk is raising the stakes. Without naming names, he labelled other Gambian rappers as average and challenged them to create a month-long collaborative track.
Myk claims he could counter it with a song in just three days, and outperform theirs.
“If all the Gambian rappers came together to make a song, I would out-rap them all. Give them a month, I only need three days to beat them,” Myk said.
Fans of Gambian rap have welcomed the fresh heat in the scene, which had been dormant for months. Many believe that this bold challenge could energize the local music industry. Myk remains one rapper who never backs down from a challenge.
