Amadou Camara, the National Assembly member for Nianija constituency, has called on fellow lawmakers to disregard critics he labelled “Facebook warriors” and support the controversial 2024 draft constitution bill.

Speaking during parliamentary debates, Mr Camara warned that rejecting the bill could hinder the country’s progress.

He highlighted that the draft includes important provisions such as presidential term limits and other benefits for the nation.

“We must not limit our powers where they are necessary. This is our responsibility, and we need to carry it out effectively,” he said.

Mr Camara added: “Let us not be influenced by political bias or external opinions. Nor should we be swayed by Facebook warriors who claim to know everything. This parliament belongs to us as elected representatives.”
