Mbully Manneh, National People’s Party’s chairman for Kartong constituency, has abandoned the party over “lack of trust and confidence” in its administration.

In a letter, Mr Manneh said he took the decision to resign because he has lost faith in the ruling party.

“It is with great sadness that I write to tender my resignation as NPP’s chairman for Kartong Kombo South constituency and cease to be a member of the party (NPP) effective 20th August 2024.

President Adama Barrow

“My decision is informed by the lack of trust and confidence I have in the NPP administration. I therefore, can’t continue to hold this position in the party as well as serve as a member under this circumstance. Therefore, I want to take this opportunity to thank the party for the trust bestowed on me as the chairman,” he added.
