One in ten Gambian students have no access to TV and radio, according to a UNICEF study.
The UNICEF SMS U-Report research finds that about 1,470 students of the 10,000 students polled have no television or radio to access the ongoing home schooling organised by the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education (MoBSE) as a result of the coronavirus lockdown
According to the study 1,527 students were receiving their lessons through television while 481 students were receiving it through radio.
The report, which was published on Wednesday May 6, also said that 745 students were not aware of the ministry’s radio and television home learning lessons but 3,121 students revealed that they were aware of it.
